Jason Williams tries to work his way back from broken leg

Unrestricted free agent Jason Williams(notes) continues to work out and prepare for the season at home in London, Ontario. Even if he has no idea where he’s going to play this season.

because of a broken leg, the former Red Wings forward is hopeful that his waiting will come to an end in the next couple weeks.
“There’s nothing concrete, but we have interest from a couple different teams,” Williams told Sporting News. "I’m hoping I can find out this week.”
Williams, 30, scored just six goals last season but has proved he’s a capable scorer when he plays a full season. In 2008-09, while splitting time with Columbus and Atlanta, Williams scored 19 goals in 80 games, including a career-high seven power Pittsburgh Steelers jersey

He never felt the same last season while recovering from the broken leg, but said the injury won’t be an issue this season.
“There are a lot of guys who have come back from more severe broken legs,” he said. “I feel pretty good. The training is going pretty well.”
He said he hasn’t seriously considered the KHL as an option and hopes to avoid attending an NHL training camp only on a tryout.
